The campaign focuses on 23 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
- Africa (11): Burkina Faso, DRC, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia
- Asia (5): Bangladesh, Indonesia, Nepal, Philippines, Vietnam
- Latin America, and Caribbean (7): Bolivia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Paraguay
The Global Education Campaign raises awareness of deafblindness and puts the educational and inclusion rights of children with deafblindness on the agenda including gender equality. It is relevant for 5.85 million children, their families, professionals, and researchers in the field. New sustainable national and regional networks and new scientific findings from and for the focus regions are generated. Nationally, concrete progress is being made in one of the globally identified areas of greatest need.
It will provide 15,000 euros for 30 research projects on children with deafblindness, supported by an international panel of experts. The results will be presented at the next joint world conference of DbI and WFDB at the University of Zurich in 2027.
