Building bridges through partnership, knowledge sharing, and a shared vision for inclusion.
The President of the World Federation of the Deafblind (WFDB), Dr. Sanja Tarczay, carried out an institutional visit to the Social Group ONCE in Madrid to strengthen international cooperation and explore new opportunities for collaboration aimed at improving the quality of life and defending the rights of persons who are deafblind worldwide.
During the visit, strategic meetings were held with the leadership of the Social Group ONCE and key disability stakeholders to exchange experiences, share priorities, and identify joint actions in global advocacy, accessibility, inclusion initiatives, and support services for persons who are deafblind and persons with disabilities.
The programme also included a meeting with the Spanish Ambassador-at-Large for Disability and for the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD), reinforcing the importance of coordinated international action and multilateral engagement to advance disability rights globally.
This institutional visit reaffirmed the strong relationship between WFDB, ONCE, and international partners such as the International Disability Alliance and the World Blind Union. It highlighted the value of collaboration, shared expertise, and unified advocacy in building a more inclusive and accessible world for all deafblind persons.
Together, we continue building bridges and strengthening global cooperation so that no deafblind person is left behind.
