The Youth Committee of the World Federation of the Deafblind (WFDB) and the Youth Network of Deafblind International (DbI) are jointly organising the first ever youth camp in conjunction with a world conference on deafblindness: Prior to and in connection with the WFDB and DbI World Conference in Davos, Switzerland in July 2027.
The World Conference will take place from 19 to 23 July 2027. On 17 and 18 July 2027, there will be a joint pre-conference of many of the 17 Networks of DbI. And during these days, the first World Conference Youth Camp will also take place, possibly starting on 16 July.
We are pleased to publish this call for expressions of interest to serve as a volunteer member of the Youth Camp Organising Committee (OC).
The tasks include planning and organising the Youth Camp, including budgeting and participation in fundraising, in close cooperation with the Planning Committee of the World Conference.
The head of the Youth Camp Organising Committee is Pere Cantenys Gómez, leader of the WFDB Youth Committee. As the Youth Camp and World Conference will take place in Davos, we are particularly looking for young members with deafblindness aged 18 to 35 who live in Switzerland, Austria or Germany, but everyone is welcome.
Please note:
- This is a voluntary position.
- No funds are available for interpreting or translation costs.
- The role involves regular online meetings via Zoom in the run-up to the event. The meetings will be held in English. Transcription will be available.
- The aim is to publish the youth camp programme together with the conference programme approximately one year before the event.
